shubhaarambh
New beginnings.. its only correct and symbolic to start with a post of ganesha chathurthi for a food blog, not only does this Hindu god represent auspicious beginnings he's also largely believed to be a food lover.. much like me :) This was my first year celebrating this particular festival, all by myself since ive been married recently and left to live on my own! its quite an experience the journey of being a food enthusiast who lingers around the kitchen once in a while while my dear amma cooks to being a full time cook! ganesh chathurthi is celebrated with much pomp and enthusiasm in India. and as a child it meant visiting the local ganesha temple and wait and watch the big ganesha statue processions but mainly relishing the kovil prasadams and homemade delicacies such as kozhukattais.
i made 5 types of naivedyam and iam quite happy! i think i did alright for a first timer! the recipes will follow soon but for now here is the menu and the pictures! :)
